WHAT IS DRIPSTOP?
HOW DRIPSTOP WORKS?
Dripstop DIY captures condensation on the underside of metal roofs and releases moisture naturally when conditions improve.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When do I install Dripstop?
You can only add Dripstop at construction or when replacing a metal roof.
Use it on non-climate-controlled metal roofs where warm, humid air can meet a cool roof and hit the dew point (common overnight, on cool mornings, and during seasonal swings in any climate). Dripstop absorbs forming droplets, holds them, then releases the moisture as conditions dry—preventing interior drip, helping prevent corrosion on the underside of the metal roof, and protecting contents.
Common applications:
- Barns
- Garages
- Sheds
- Ag / light-industrial buildings
- Self-storage facilities
Can I put Dripstop on after the my roof is installed?
Yes! Dripstop DIY is specifically designed for existing buildings with uninsulated metal roofs.
Unlike factory-applied Dripstop, the DIY version can be installed directly onto the underside of an existing metal roof. Its self-adhesive peel-and-stick design makes installation simple, with no special tools or professional help required.
Once installed, Dripstop DIY absorbs condensation as it forms, holds the moisture within the membrane and releases it back into the air when conditions allow, helping prevent dripping and protecting the space below.
Is Dripstop difficult to maintain?
No—Dripstop is designed to be maintenance-free. If cleaning is ever needed, you can hose or pressure-wash it, and it retains its effectiveness for the life of the metal roof.
Do I need to insulate my building if I install Dripstop?
For unconditioned/non–climate-controlled buildings, you typically don’t need separate “condensation control” liners if you install Dripstop. However, Dripstop is not thermal insulation or waterproofing; it doesn’t add R-value, control temperature, or fix roof leaks.
Does Dripstop stop corrosion in my building?
Yes—Dripstop helps prevent corrosion on metal roofs. In manufacturer testing that adapted the ASTM Cleveland Condensing humidity method to livestock conditions (panels over heated manure vapor at near-100% humidity for up to ~1,000 hours), panels with DR!PSTOP resisted corrosion much better than bare panels under those severe conditions. The membrane retains its effectiveness throughout the life of the metal roof. Results still depend on proper installation, ventilation, and environment—Dripstop reduces underside corrosion risk but isn’t a blanket guarantee against all corrosion.
